Back to Porthcawl
The following descriptions and grades were provided by Eliot Stephens, apart from the Cromlech Dyno which was provided by Rob Sanderson and pals.
Contents |
Block Wall Left
This is the furthest left of the walls and has one really tricky dyno on it.
Problems:
- Footsie (V1): Traverse rightwards along the wall at mid height. Finish up the arete.
- Cromlech Dyno (V4) (F.A Rob Sanderson + pals): From a good hold at about chest height, dyno up to the jutting block at the top of the wall
- Sun in My Eyes (V0+): Sit start. Launch straight up the arete on great holds.
Block Wall Right
The right hand wall.
Problems:
- Playful (V0): Sit Start: The arete on its right hand side.
- Blocked (V0-): Climb up the wall right of the arete.
- The Chock (V0): Climb up the crack to the right of 'Blocked'.
- Cheeky Cheeky (V2): Climb the wall to the right of 'The Chock'. Crimpy!
- Lean Arete (V0): Straight up the leaning arete!
OverBlock Wall
To the right of 'Blocked Wall Right is a corner with a pool at its base pretty much all the time. Just around the corner from this is a corner with a blocked overhand on its left arete.
Problems:
- Limited Options (V3)*:Traverse a crack at about thigh height, then move left to a good jug with feet on a small edge at the base of the arete. Move under the overhang on small holds and catch the far left side of the wall. Big move up to a crimp and then top out.
UnderBlock Wall
The square wall directly to the right of 'Overblock Wall'. 2 Large cracks run down the centre of the wall.
Problems:
- Jitters (V1) Sit Start.Climb the wall directly below the jutting block at the top of the wall. Move straight up over the block.
- Prow Control (V0+) Climb straight up the left hand side of the left crack in the wall. Over the prow to top out.
- Crackers (V0) Climb just right of the right crack in the wall.
