Description
Problems:
Several eliminates on here, to be honest I haven't spent much time on this section, but would welcome contributions of existing problems by other boulderers.
Bottom Boulder 1
Description
Directly below Wolery Wall
Problems
- (4b) SS. Climb left side of 'gap' in boulder (Chas Ryder 13 & 17.7.02)
- (4b) SS using pocket climb the right side of the 'gap' (Chas Ryder 13 & 17.7.02)
- Brick Bradford (5b+) SS. The rounded arete on right. Good moves (Chas Ryder 13 & 17.7.02)
- (5a) SS. Start on two flat holds on left end of boulder and swing right and continue traversing using layaways to finish up 3. (Chas Ryder 13 & 17.7.02)
Bottom Boulder 2
Description
Directly below Alley Crack
Problems
- (5a) SS at left end under roof. Pull up and over the roof using the arete (Chas Ryder 13,17 &20.7.02)
- Shelf Life (5b) SS under roof. Pull up and over onto the shelf. Harder by direct mantel. (Chas Ryder 13,17 &20.7.02)
- (5a) SS. Right wall (Chas Ryder 13,17 &20.7.02)
Hell is around the corner area
Description
Up the mountain around the corner and up left from Wolery Wall area. There are two adjacent, narrow but very steep areas of rock, the left hand near a tree. Just below these is a small long boulder. The following problems and descriptions were sent in by Chris Evans.
Small long boulder
Problems
- V1/2 Traverse left to right and finish up slopey fin of rock.
Left hand steep boulder
Description
All with sitting start. The 'hell' problem will be superb.
Problems
- VO Climb less steep left hand side of overhang.
- Project Climb to the lip of the overhang using holds on the lower left lip. Project
- Hell project, climb the centre of the roof to lip and awful mantle.
- V2/3 Up steep right side of overhang to another awkward matle. 5 year old spotter gave just enough confidence.
Right hand steep boulder
Description
All with sitting start
Problems
- V2 Traverse right out of gully then up arete.
- V0 from gully up left wall.
- V1 Up arete direct
- V0/1 Up right wall of arete
